Experience & Background
Drew serves as an expert witness and consultant in forensic accounting, business and financial valuation, and applied finance. He has worked with Phillips, Fractor & Company, LLC since 2007.
Drew currently teaches accounting and finance in Pepperdine University’s Masters of Applied Finance and MBA programs. Previously Drew has also taught accounting and finance at California State University, Northridge and Sonoma State University. Before pursuing academics, Drew worked for approximately 20 years in public accounting and various corporate financial management roles. He worked for several companies, including a publicly held multinational corporation. He has industry experience including healthcare, agribusiness, real estate, valuation, and education.
At Pepperdine University, Drew helped develop an online curriculum. He has also developed online materials for John Wiley & Sons in the area of applied finance. Drew has published academic research in the areas of portfolio construction and the impact of accounting information on stock performance.
Education
Drew obtained a B.S. in Business Administration, Accounting from California State University, Fresno. He became a licensed CPA in 1983. Later, he earned his MBA and his Ed.D from California State University, Northridge. Drew wrote his doctoral dissertation on applications of Activity-Based Costing to educational institutions. He received his CFE designation in 2023.
